Pounds Into £’s

Shedding excess pounds has earned Gillian Fleckney some real spending £££’s.

The 64 year old pocketed £100 and a free personal training session after winning a six-week inch loss programme with Evolution Fitness.

Tring rugby players Daniel Boniface and Tom Mowbray teamed up with international athlete Lesley-Ann Hopkins in September last year to launch the personal training business.

To prove their worth they kicked off with a fitness challenge that saw participants meet regularly with trainers and follow a specific workout programme.

Winner Mrs Fleckney who lives in ST Leonards near Tring said “I had lost three stone but wasn’t able to keep the last half a stone off so I needed a kick start.

“I didn’t go in to win, I just wanted to lose half a stone but I ended losing eight pounds”

She beat 10 others to the top spot losing almost four inches of fat in total from across her body.

The challenge has been such a hit that the trio of trainers are now running it again but this time competitors will have eight weeks to slim down.

If 30 people sign up, each paying £50, the person with the largest loss at the end of the programme will bag £200.

Mr Boniface said “it is really for anyone”.

“The idea of it is to promote exercise and to get people - particularly after Christmas- out and active”.

To sign up attend the initial weigh-in at Tring Rugby Club in Cow Lane, Tring, tomorrow between 5:30pm and 7pm.
